DRACONIS
Carved from stone, Draconis embodies the symbolic essence of the dragon in mythology and psychology. Evoking Jungian themes, the dragon here represents both the fearsome and enlightening forces within the unconscious mind.
The eye, stylized with organic lines, suggests an all-seeing wisdom, while the serpent-like form symbolizes transformation and the integration of primal energies.
Draconis invites viewers to confront and embrace the "dragon" within our inner darkness, power and potential for growth.
LA LUCE FECONDA IL BUIO
This sculpture is made from Trani stone and basalt. The elongated form of the Trani stone represents a sperm cell, while the basalt suggests the entrance into the womb and the darkness within it.
The work explores the encounter between light and darkness as an image of fertilisation and the beginning of life. Darkness is not presented as an absence or negation of light, but as the space in which something can emerge and take form.
The sculpture also draws on the symbolic relationship between light and darkness found in various spiritual traditions, where light can represent life, consciousness, knowledge, and transformation, while darkness refers to the unknown and the hidden.
FIORI DI PIETRA
A series of basalt sculptures inspired by the contrast between the delicacy of a flower and the weight of stone. Basalt, born from fire, becomes a material through which the idea of the flower is transformed into something solid and enduring.
The works explore the tension between lightness and heaviness, fragility and permanence, nature and matter, giving the stone a new, almost organic presence.
