AMRCORD
Mola di Bari 2005 - present
For more than twenty years, I have been photographing Mola di Bari, building an evolving visual archive of the town and its people.
The project observes the transformations of a community through everyday life, portraits, work and crafts, children, the sea and fishing, local traditions and the places that shape the identity of the town. Rather than documenting a fixed moment, the archive has grown alongside Mola itself, recording changes in its social fabric, landscape and collective memory.
The photographs move between documentary observation and a personal relationship with the place. Over time, the archive has become both a record of a community and an intimate visual memory of the town where I live and work.
The research has also developed into a series of artist's books, including Amarcord. A People's Atlas of Mola di Bari, Gli Ultimi Pescatori. Archivio del mare di Mola di Bari and Folklore. Cronache del Sacro e del Profano.
